Cooking lasagna is much easier than you think. We are often overwhelmed because we think it is something very complicated. In reality, however, it is very easy to cook lasagna.

Lasagne is an Italian dish that has quickly become popular all over the world. It consists of several layers of square pasta plates of semolina and durum wheat, mozzarella cheese.

Easy ways to cook lasagna

1. Lasagne with vegetables

If you do not have much experience in the kitchen, but want to start cooking lasagna on your own, it is best to go for this recipe with vegetables. This way you can really learn the preparation of the ingredients and the cooking times.

Vegetables, like the ones in this recipe, are a little easier to cook than meat.  Therefore, it is a good choice for newcomers. Once the technique is mastered, portions of meat (white or red, whichever you prefer) can be added to this recipe.

Ingredients
  • 175 g with chopped mushrooms
  • a pinch of pepper and a few stalks of oregano
  • 95 g low-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 8 plates with pre-made pasta (250 g)
  •  tablespoon olive oil (45 ml)
  • 600 g spinach
  • 1 tomato, cut into thin pieces (85 g)
  •  3 garlic boats, must (15 g)
  • 50 g squash
  • 1 medium onion (45 g)
  • 1 tablespoon salt (45 g)
  • Tomato puree
Cooking
  • Heat a pan over low heat beforehand.
  • Add the squash first with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Bake on low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add the onion and repeat the steps. Then add the rest of the vegetables (wait with the mushrooms and garlic until the end).
  • Boil the spinach separately in a saucepan with boiling water and a pinch of salt over low heat for 2 minutes.
  • Place the pasta layers in a container (preferably made of glass).
  • Remove the vegetables from the heat.
  • The tomato puree should not be mixed with the vegetable filling or mozzarella cheese. These should be layered in this order: a layer of pasta, the filling (vegetables, cheese, tomato puree) and then the white sauce.
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before it can be enjoyed.

2. Traditional lasagne

It is also necessary to learn the traditional way of cooking lasagne. This is not only to enjoy it, but also to dive to the roots of the different variations of this recipe that exist today.

The filling is the key, whether it is beef or chicken. Pay attention to the ingredients and amounts we discuss below.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tablespoon with olive oil (50 ml)
  • 2.75 dl with white sauce (bechamel sauce)
  • 400 g mozzarella cheese
  • 2.5 dl tomato sauce
  • 400 g lasagne paste
  • 1.2 dl tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon pepper (45 g)
  • 500 g of minced beef
  • 1/2 tablespoon with salt (30 g)
  • 1/2 onion (50 g)
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 green pepper
Cooking
  • Prepare the minced meat of beef in a medium-sized frying pan over low heat with salt, pepper, a little Worcestershire sauce, onion, tomato puree and green pepper  for approx. 20 minutes, until well cooked.
  • While the filling is cooking, prepare a form in which you lay the first layer of pasta plates.
  • When the filling is done, put the layers in this order: pasta, filling, sauce.
  • Spread the mozzarella cheese and the white sauce, little by little.
  • Repeat the process until it covers the entire shape.
  • Put in the oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • When done, let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

As you may have noticed, cooking lasagne is not rocket science. It’s all about being a little alert and daring to take the first step.

On the other hand,  do not be afraid to replace the meat with tuna, or to use non-traditional pasta plates (for example, plates made of spinach instead of pasta). This will make the dish less monotonous and increase the nutritional content.
