Do you want to treat psoriasis on your nails naturally?

Our skin is constantly renewing itself. But as we know, too much of anything is never good, and if  your skin renews itself faster than normal,  this can lead to negative consequences for your health.

Psoriasis is a clear example of this. Although not particularly dangerous or contagious, it can be very painful and difficult to treat.

Because of this, we share five natural preparations for treating psoriasis on the nails.

What is psoriasis?

Etymologically, the word “psoriasis” comes from the Greek “psora” which means “itching”.

Our dead skin cells in the epidermis, the top layer of the skin, are  replaced with new cells. This process happens about every 30 days.

However, when  this happens faster than necessary, psoriasis develops. It causes redness of the skin or peeling, which generally causes pain and itching, and it can also often affect the nails.

With psoriasis on the nails, sores are  more common on the hands than the feet. Often they can be the only signs that someone has psoriasis.

Among the most common characteristics of nails attacked by psoriasis we find:

  • Irregularities on the nail, as if it had been pricked with a needle.
  • Thickness  of some areas of the nail or the entire nail.
  • Yellow or pink marks on the nails that can cause  breakage of the sides.
  • Loss of shine and a  rough appearance  on the nails.
  • Degradation of the nail, causing a sawdust-like powder under the nail.
  • Affected nails can be  very fragile.

Since nails grow very slowly, it is quite common for people to lose heart because it takes so long to see the results of the treatment. However, the treatment must be continuous and well monitored so that people do not give up prematurely.

Preparations for treating psoriasis on the nails

Treatments for nails attacked by psoriasis generally do not give people satisfaction and  tend to be focused mainly on cases where there is a functional breakdown  or where there is significant visible damage.

However, there are some natural options that you can make at home to take care of it.

Use cream with vitamin D.

Vitamin D has  anti-inflammatory properties and promotes healing of the nails  when they are damaged. This is why creams and ointments that contain vitamin D are the best for treating psoriasis on the nails.

What do you need?
